We're a restored, heritage-designated, industrial building in downtown Toronto that is home to over 140 artists, cultural producers, microenterprises, galleries, festivals, and shops. The building is a thriving arts hub that is open to the public. Doors Open more than 135 architecturally, historically, culturally and socially significant buildings will open their doors for the weekend and highlight the people who built our city.

On the Last Wednesday of every month a selection of galleries and shops at 401 Richmond Street West will be open after-hours. Stop by after work to see the current exhibitions in our artist-run centres and galleries and pick up something special at one of our unique independent shops. If you'd like to coordinate a group tour during Last Wednesdays contact us by EMAIL

BUILT FOR ART

Every fall we celebrate arts and culture at 401 Richmond with special exhibition programming and events that engage the creative community in the building and beyond. Built for Art is an independent project with Scotiabank Nuit Blanche.

FARMERS MARKET

Farm fresh produce brought by local farmers to our building once a week. Farmers markets provide the opportunity to support local agricultural production and sustainable food practices.

BRICKOLAGE TOUR PROGRAM

The Brickolage tour program provides opportunities throughout the year for groups to visit the galleries and artist-run centres that bring visual arts programming to the building. Arrangements can be made to meet the curators, artists, and staff who run these presentation venues, as well as behind-the-scenes access to art-making facilities. The Artisans Marketplace showcases craft-making, art, and design at its finest. 401 is host to tenant and local makers who offer unique gifts for the holiday season bringing inspiration to your giving.

ARTISTS OPEN STUDIO

Artists Open Studio invites visitors into the workspaces of resident artists at 401 Richmond offering a chance to meet the artists and see their work right where they create it.
